Spotlight on DIDYMOS Flower of Life, Amethyst (Hemp Blend)

Blending Amethyst violet cotton warp threads with a weft of natural coloured hemp creates a deep yet soft visual of flowers of life. The natural hemp threads almost have a silver hue to them when set against the deep bluish purple. At 250 g/m2, the fabric weight is considered a medium thick wrap. Brand new in box, it feels heavy and stiff but just after one wash, the fabric becomes so much more soft, floofy and pliable. The jacquard weave is woven more densely than an indio but not as densely as some of the other jacquards. Therefore, the fabric is airy enough to feel light in hand, but has amazing rock solid support. The thickness of the wrap lends itself to incredible cush on the shoulders. Those with picky shoulders will not be disappointed! The wrap does lean on the thicker side, and therefore may take a few washes and wears before the full potential of the wrap is realized when wrapping. However, it is well worth it as this fabric is such a delight to touch and wear. A snuggly wrap for newborn right to preschool age!

At our recent photo shoot with Liz, promoting babywearing awareness, Liz modelled the Flower of Life Hemp amethyst during the shoot. We asked her to review this design as a ring sling. Liz had the ring sling for just over four months before using it for the photo shoot so she was able to tell us of her journey from receiving it new to months of use with her two daughters. Flower of life is a hemp blend. It wears with cush straight out of the box! This woven was an easy break-in, not intimidating at all. It’s now buttery soft & very cushy for my baby, as well as very useable with my toddler! This is my toddlers preference actually, she asks for it daily! It’s a rocksolid woven, if you tighten it, adjust it and fit it the way you like, it isn’t going anywhere. This quality has made it perfect for back carrying too, since it is so fast to put on and stays put:) It is a little bulkier in the rings, not an extremely thick weave but the texture the hemp provides makes weaving the rings just a little bulkier then is my preference.  Overall I LOVE this gender neutral colours, it is never leaving! The stock photos don’t do it justice which is why I’m so happy we were able to capture its beauty in the photos. Although there is a sparkle in person, no denying!
